Telecom Service Specialist
Fortify Communications, the San Francisco-based affiliate of one of Germany’s most successful providers of managed telecommunication services and hosted call center solutions, is looking for a technical support manager to lead our growing USA operations. The focus is on pre sales technical support and the expansion of our high availability managed telecommunication services . |
| Responsibilities |
Responsibilities of the position include: - Conduct technical analysis of customer requirements related to design, development and implementation of interactive voice response systems and hosted contact center solutions
- Communicate with customers regarding IVR system design and application integration
- Provide technical input into the development of new services and customized applications
- Work closely with service development teams in our parent company (speaking German not required)
- Coordinate implementation of new and upgraded hardware and software
- Perform configuration and maintenance of our network and the telecommunication servers
- Monitor applications and interfaces to ensure high performance
- Identify problems through reproduction, diagnosis, and root cause analysis
- Resolve complex problems related to interfaces and network connectivity of hardware platforms, operating systems, database management systems and applications

| Qualifications and experience |
Equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree, preferably with major course work in computer science, and three years of technical experience in the support of computer hardware, operating systems, network operating systems and telecommunications.
- Must have at least 3 years successful experience deploying IVR or ACD systems
- Strong skills in configuration of routers, firewalls, and other network components
- Proven experience with Web Technologies using HTML, PHP, XML and MySQL
- Background knowledge in PSTN and VOIP communication systems and protocols
- Good knowledge with Linux or UNIX Operating System
- Software engineering skills desired in C and C++
- Good understanding of systems and support process and practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to navigate challenging situations
- Strong system engineering skills with project and consulting focus
- Strong communications skills, both in writing and speaking
